December 2006 - weird weather

This fall has been the warmest in the last > 200 years.

At 10pm, there was warm wind (Föhn) coming over the alps from the south.

This strong wind brought warm and dry air from the south and within just
three hours, the temperature rose 3.5 degrees and the humidity went down.

When the wind eased up, the temperature went down and the humidity back up.

This has been going on for a good part of this fall, although not always
that sudden. The normal rainy and cold weather periods we have in fall
were absent completely this fall. It was always quite nice and warm,
more than 2.5 degrees C above the average temperature.
