what I found( jump to latest version ) Back in August 2004 when I bought this camera I tried to control it using linux. Unfortunately at that time I was unable to find adequate drivers so it did not work out. This month I stumbled over a new piece of software, called OrbitFX which I downloaded and tested on my computer. It worked out of the box - and that was it. This software used up way too much CPU on my laptop. Other than the Trackerpod software, which has a nice little webserver included, OrbitFX uses some TomCat server where the html code for the pages seem to be tucked away. The computer for OfficeCam runs Windows ME on a only 128MB RAM. It also does the MP3 encoding for the office audio stream. Why should a simple server use all those resources? what I didLogiSphere I started to write a program to control the Logitech Sphere / Orbit from my computer. how it continuedthe software changed quite a lot - soon ready for a first release |
