Chat Easter Egg

You might have met TruckBot in the chat. This bot is a piece of perl code.
Its purpose is mostly to keep drivers informed what the truck is doing,
but TruckBot also has some sort of AI interface to let you do various things
on the site.

Today I want to show you the drive feature

You can drive WebTruck with just a few keystrokes
without fiddling with the mouse in a java window (although java is required):

Open the chat
type /msg truckbot drive
TruckBot will show a short message explaining the drive commands:

  • to drive forward, type d1 for a short drive, d10 for a long drive, and any value in between
  • to reverse, type d1 up to d10
  • to turn type l90 for a 90 degree left turn, r90 for a right turn, or any other value
  • up -> bucket up
  • down ->> bucket down
  • unload -> unloads
Using this interface, you have a much more responsive WebTruck - you wont have to wait for pictures to reload as TruckBot is doing the driving for you.

You can use the box live stream or any other cam view to see the truck while you're driving.

one of my favorites is using the OfficeCam and TruckBot to control the truck

Cam Move

Some of you told me already what you think about moving cameras to different locations. The voting - it is still very close
this voting will end by the end of this month.

September

I have been busy with other things than webtruck and flying, so there is not much to write for this month, but I did the >September Page anyway with a few pics of the brushless motor I got.

Have a good time
