Hosting

The external test server (incomplete copy of www.webtruck.org) has much more bandwidth than www.webtruck.org. I will keep the account with this provider, and put pictures and large files (video clips) on that server.
It is not possible to just mirror the server, because the interactive pages need to have access to the computers in my network.
Even when there is nobody looking at the site, the servers constantly monitor the cams and detect motion

As provider charges for network traffic, I dont want to automatically update pictures on a remote server...

Flying

August 27th

Having done my paperwork, I went for a flight with the Multiplex TwinStar I bought on Ebay and fixed recently.

As the old Wingo Porter is dumped (and the new one is still in the box) I thought I give the TwinStar a try.

I was not very successfull - had about 5mins of flight, but that was enough to realize that this plane will not help much in carrying a camera...

Pictures

On top front of the plane you can see the sensor for the autopilot HAL 2100. This device senses brightness with 4 sensors and sets the servos to level the plane (all sensors have the same brightness).
It is amazing to see the elevator and the ailerons react when you just move the plane in your hand - it seems to work

Extended testing revealed that I had less control on the ailerons from the RC, so for the first flight I decided to leave the autopilot on the ground.

To get the center of gravity right I had to load a stone way in front...
The first launch resulted in a landing after a couple of meters, but it was obvious it could fly

The second launch worked better, and I was flying around in low height, as I did not manage to get it up high, and it was not easy to figure how the plane was in the air

As I crashed the plane after a couple of minutes, there was no second flight with the sensor...
But I am confident that it works, and I will probably use it with the 2nd Wingo Porter I have waiting in the box :-)

I am bidding on Ebay for brushless motors, but so far they have always been too expensive for my budget :-(
