Any new developments on your Wingo or Wingo Porter? I found this site by searching on Google for "Wingo airfoil" I thought it was neat that you had taken a photo of your Wingo's airfoil! I do quite a bit of RC aerial photography and I'm in the process of building a new model for a fairly heavy camera and I was searching for the perfect airfoil to cut with my newly made hot-wire foam cutter and the idea of copying the Wingo airfoil came to mind, this is perfect airfoil for my application. So I cut up my very old Wingo wing and made some templates. I think that I will use the original wingo tips just because they would be difficult to replicate on the foam cutter. I will let you know how it works out! Should be a fun project and hopefully it can lift my 14oz. camera (don't know what that is in grams sorry.....we dumb Americans need to go metric already!)

You saw how my attempt with a self built wing ended up last May Cry

Now all my flying is stalled - I don't have time because I am working on other things.
I have the plans for a big plane, but not the space and time (yet) to start building.

Speaking of Wingo and things, (it's been February, 2007 since I've last visited this site), I see that a lot of previous videos, stories seem to be missingHuh? I liked your old layout much better. It was fun reading your adventures, but that has mostly been edited, deleted. So what it is worth, I wish you would restore all the cool videos. I fly the Wingo too--I'm on my second one--too many accidents. I think I will try what you did, that is take just the wing (the only part that seems to come through intact in a crash) and build a "wooden" body, and carbon fuse..... (on the other hand, I'm not as adept as you are in the way of inventing/fabricating something so it will be interestingFrin)

I am sorry too that you have not been flying lately--I will be anxiously waiting for your next flying project!!

(side note: I came to the site just to make a donation, but your paypal link takes me to an all german paypal site that I cannot use, and I don't know how to do it on the "USA english paypal site")

Hello churlock,

I don't know what you're missing.
I have not deleted anything nor rearranged in the last ~2 years.

The layout has last been changed a long time ago - so what layout are you writing about?
(back a long time ago the site used to have a black background, but ever since I changed to zope it basically remained the same)

Hope I will find time for flying this year - so far nothing has been done.

If you have pictures of your wingo, you can use your Member folder to publish them.
Look at member a to see how it's done.

as for the PayPal payment - I verified on my end, and all was english. Maybe you picked up a cookie which sets the language to german for paypal somewhere?

If you're still willing to donate, you may also just send your donation to the (paypal) address webtruck@webtruck.org, the donation form is not really required for me (webtruck) to get your donation.

Ok, it is probably me and old age that thought you had changed your site layout. Anyway, I still like the site a lot.

I went to donations again, and it took me to paypal still in german. I then went to my regular paypal link, logged in, all english. That was good, because I was worried paypal would forever be in germanRoll Eyes I opened up a 2nd browser window, went to your donation link, and bingo, it worked--it was in english! You were right--some cookie thing was going on. (I very rarely go to any german language web sites, so why german for paypal? One of life's little mysteries I guess.)

When I complete my Wingo "contraption", I will post pictures if you think there might be interest in seeing them. One design consideration is the motor. I'm going to switch from the brushed motor with a gearbox to a direct drive brushless in-runner. I have a Multiplex Brushless BL-480/8D motor with a 8x4 prop that I will use for power. This seems like a perfect match to power a Wingo, particularily with a load like a camcorder.

One issue for me is the placement of the motor in relationship to the wing. What is the best up/down/left/right thrust angle?? Where should the trust line be on a high wing, pusher aircraft?? What happens if thrust line too low?? Too high?? A little research is in order before I proceedFrin I think I will need to put some kind of adjustment mechanism so I can adjust it empirically. This is what I believe to be the hardest thing to get right. Anyhow, if time allows, I should have something built within a month......

Thank you very much for your generous donation!

I am looking forward to your pictures.

I have no experience with the regular wingo - I have always used the bigger version and pretty soon converted it into something where just the wings were wingo. I never liked the (double) pusher props on the original setup, because on impact the wanted to move forward and rip the wing apart.

There is a yahoo wingo group - look there, you'll find very experienced people.
